Finally Stripped
I thought I'd never get to finish removal of the rest of the "good parts" from the extremely rotten slate blue parts car (correct me if the color name is different). As it turned out, you REALLY do need a back hoe to remove an engine and transmission from a 2002. Here's what we did.....
We picked up the car and shook it until the parts flew off. This is why you MUST have a backhoe to remove parts in the manner.

Not really. First, we pulled off the rear subassembly containing the differential and all the suspension pieces as one piece. The backhoe proved crucial to this process as well. Here's why....
We rolled the car up onto the passenger side... and removed the needed parts.

Next, we loosened the engine mounts with the car correctly back on the ground again.

Next, we turned the car back on its side for removal of parts stopping us from extracting the engine and transmission with our diesel engine hoist.

With the car once again flat, we pulled out the engine and transmission with the backhoe. We failed to get pictures of this process, but here's the engine and transmission sitting on the ground.

I just couldn't resist finishing off the car.
